Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming primary school in Durham. You will support learning across key stages, lead engaging activities, and help pupils progress, under the guidance of teachers and school leaders.

Qualifications

• HLTA status or strong experience working as a Teaching Assistant in a primary setting.
• Experience supporting learning within a primary school environment.
• Confidence delivering lessons and activities independently.
• Strong classroom management and behaviour support skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• A genuine passion for supporting children's education.

Responsibilities

• Leading whole-class, small-group, and intervention activities.
• Delivering pre-planned lessons and learning activities.
• Supporting pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
• Providing additional support to pupils with a range of learning needs.
• Helping to maintain positive behaviour and classroom routines.
• Working closely with teachers and school staff to improve pupil outcomes.
• Encouraging confidence, independence, and a love of learning.
