Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking an entry-level High-Level Disinfection (HLD) Technician I to support decontamination, disinfection and sterilization workflows across the system. You will work with preceptors and the Lead HLD Technician to develop skills, perform instrumentation inspection, decontamination, documentation, and pack/prepare items for sterilization per policy and procedures.

Qualifications

• Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must acquire endoscope reprocessing certification within 12 months of hire.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.; frequent lifting, pushing and pulling.
• Experience: None (entry level); 1-2 years preferred.
• Basic computer skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Decontamination & High-Level Disinfection: PPE as required.
• Receives soiled equipment and documents receipt in tracking system.
• Inspects/evaluates equipment for function and cleanliness.
• Loads sterilizer and performs routine sterilizer testing.
• Escalates repair needs to supervisor as appropriate.
• Maintains clean and organized workstation.
