Job summary

UCSF Health, AG in San Francisco seeks an associate physician (MD) to join Ward 86, the HIV/AIDS Clinic at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital. You will deliver comprehensive HIV care, diagnose and manage HIV-related conditions, prescribe ART, and coordinate multidisciplinary services for adults living with HIV.

The role emphasizes strong communication, responsiveness, and experience working with vulnerable patients in safety-net settings.

Qualifications

• MD board certified (or board eligible) in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
• Experience providing HIV primary care to adults living with HIV.
• Strong communication and responsiveness.
• Experience documenting encounters timely.
• Experience with vulnerable patients in safety-net settings.
• Spanish language proficiency (preferred).
• Experience with Epic Systems (preferred).
• Board certification in HIV primary care or Infectious Disease is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough medical assessments for adults living with HIV.
• Diagnose and manage HIV-related conditions and comorbidities.
• Prescribe antiretroviral therapies and monitor effectiveness.
• Provide preventive care and vaccination guidance.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary care with teams across clinics.
• Offer patient education and counseling to support adherence.
