Job summary

The Florida Department of Health in Area 7 is seeking a HIV/AIDS Surveillance Data processing coordinator. You will receive, verify, and analyze surveillance data, manage confidential records, and support epidemiologic investigations to ensure timely reporting.

Responsibilities include processing lab reports, maintaining registries, and conducting audits. You will collaborate with county health departments, hospitals, and community partners while upholding data security and privacy standards.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of data collection, entry, analysis, and reporting.
• Knowledge of HIV/AIDS, STDs, Hepatitis, and related public health issues.
• General knowledge of medical terminology.
• Skill in reviewing and interpreting medical records.
• Ability to work independently.
• Skill in preparing accurate reports and summaries.
• Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and data security.
• Ability to analyze surveillance data and identify discrepancies.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process HIV/AIDS laboratory reports for Area 7A.
• Review case report forms for completeness, accuracy, and required documentation.
• Maintain secure HIV/AIDS registries for Orange, Osceola, and Seminole counties.
• Log and track data requests and follow up with reporting sources to resolve discrepancies.
• Conduct periodic registry audits to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Provide clerical and administrative support to the Surveillance Unit.
