Job summary

K2 Space is seeking a HITL Testbed Engineer to design, implement, and maintain high-fidelity test assets that integrate flight-like hardware with simulations. You will support critical tests validating system design and operations for missions in space.

You will scale testbeds with automation, ensure parity with flight vehicles, and collaborate across engineering teams to deliver robust hardware test environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 2+ years in an integration/test/automation role (incl. internships).
• Hands-on HITL or Flatsat verification experience.
• Experience designing/building/maintaining test racks and harnessing.
• Experience testing and troubleshooting integrated avionics systems.
• Hands-on with electrical test equipment (PSU, Oscilloscope, DMM).
• Excellent conflict resolution and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities

• Design a high-fidelity vehicle testbed with rigorous documentation.
• Operate HITL testbed for validation and investigations, incl. on-orbit ops.
• Integrate and test flight-representative hardware into HITL testbeds.
• Collaborate with design and systems engineers on hardware simulation equipment.
• Maintain HITL table configuration and GSE racks.
• Create and release harness drawings for ground support equipment.
• Investigate/testbed issues and drive actions for better designs.
• Design/maintain HITL racks deployed to customers.
• Support training events for mission operators for constellation management.
