Job Title: Hitachi Storage Consultant

Location: Remote (USA)

Strategic Business Systems (SBS) is hiring an experienced Hitachi Storage Consultant to join our remote mainframe team. In this position, you will work closely with our customer in the financial sector to develop and maintain a storage roadmap, consult to understand business requirements, and develop solutions. You will also maintain disaster recovery readiness through regular testing.

Position Description:

Project Design/Leadership

1. ARC (Application Resiliency Certification)
   • Hitachi Vantara replication expertise inclusive of Data Assurance (known as Galahad within Hitachi Vantara)
     • Both asynch (US) and synch (UK)
2. Brocade Director Refresh
3. Storage Architect Skills
   • Encryption
   • I/O Performance (DASD, Switches, and Tape)
   • FICON / Fibre channel protocols and configuration
   • Refreshes (inclusive of Brocade directors/switches, Hitachi DASD, and IBM Virtual Tape TS7700s)
     • HCD/IOCP
     • Capacity (inclusive of network/switches)
     • Cost benefit analysis / cost reduction / consolidation
     • Brocade director refresh imminent as we work to meet a July 2026 completion target
4. Operational Capabilities/Technical Skills
   • Planning and or Support
     • Data Center Moves
     • Disaster Recovery Exercises

*On call is not generally required. Expect availability during Sev 1 / All Hands Situation(s) only.

Requirements:

• US Citizenship required
• Experience with architecting and administration of Hitachi Tier I G1500 storage
• Results-oriented self-starter with a positive outlook and a clear focus on team success
• Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks
• Proficient using Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Military service a plus
