Job summary

Labcorp seeks a Histotechnologist to join our Brentwood, TN team. The role involves processing tissue specimens for microscopic examination, producing slides, and performing immunohistochemistry with attention to quality control.

The schedule is Tuesday–Saturday, 9:00 am–5:30 pm, in a high-volume clinical lab. Minimum qualifications include a histology-related bachelor’s degree or equivalent, with histology certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Histology or a related science with hands-on histology lab experience.
• Completion of a histology certification program (minimum 9 months) or ASCP certification preferred.
• Experience in high-volume laboratory environments and adherence to CLIA standards.

Responsibilities

• Process human tissue and body fluid specimens for microscopic examination.
• Produce histopathological slides from surgical specimens.
• Section embedded tissue with a microtome and mount on slides.
• Perform immunohistochemical tests on tissue sections.
• Carry out routine and special staining procedures and document results.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory instruments and log data.
• Follow quality control procedures and document issues and corrective actions.
• Adhere to specimen handling, processing, analysis and reporting protocols.
