Job summary

Jefferson University Physicians seeks a per diem Histotechnician/Histotechnologist to cover call-outs and vacations across Center City, Philadelphia and Greenville, DE. You will prepare tissue specimens, embed, cut, stain, and validate results while maintaining QC and instrument readiness.

Minimum education include an Associate's degree or HT(ASCP) certification with 1–2 years of experience; HT(ASCP) certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or HT(ASCP) certification with lab experience preferred.
• Experience in histology laboratory procedures is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Interacts with staff and contributes to a collaborative lab environment.
• Performs embedding, microtomy, staining, and slide preparation for diagnosis.
• Maintains reagents and equipment and troubleshoots instrument issues.
• Receives, validates orders, and transmits test data efficiently.
• Monitors QC data and implements corrective actions as needed.
• Participates in orientation and training within the department.
