Job summary

Nebraska Medicine is seeking a skilled Histology Technician to prepare and process patient tissue for histological analysis in our anatomical pathology lab. You will perform histology techniques and support high-quality pathology preparations for accurate diagnoses.

Shift: First Shift, M-F with weekend rotation. Requires ASCP certification or equivalent and 2+ years of histopathology experience, high school education, and coursework as outlined in the qualifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years' experience with histopathological and/or immunohistological processes.
• High school education or equivalent.
• Education and training equivalent to 60 semester hours from an accredited institution that include chemistry and biology.
• Certification as HT ASCP, HTL ASCP, MLS ASCP or equivalent, or 12 years of histopathological experience.

Responsibilities

• Process and prepare patient tissue for histological or immunohistological analysis according to department procedures.
• Perform histological or immunohistological techniques with minimal supervision.
• Support continuous improvement of anatomical pathology laboratory services for high quality pathology preparations.
