Job summary

The University of Virginia's UVA Health system seeks a Histology Technician to support laboratory operations in research, teaching, and patient care. You will prepare, stain, and examine tissue specimens to provide critical information for clinical diagnoses and scientific study.

Minimum requirements include education in a NAACLS-accredited histology program (HT) or HTL (ASCP), at least 1 year of histology lab experience, and ASCP or equivalent licensure.

Qualifications

• Education in a NAACLS-accredited Histology Technician program or HTL(ASCP) certification.
• 1 year of experience in a Histology Laboratory.
• ASCP or equivalent licensure required.

Responsibilities

• Manage and operate laboratory facilities used for research, teaching, or to assist in diagnosis and treatment.
• Prepare, stain, and examine tissue samples for clinical diagnoses and scientific research.
• Ensure equipment maintenance and quality control in the histology lab.
