Responsibilities

Responsibilities include preparing, staining, and examining tissue samples, providing critical insights that support clinical diagnoses and scientific research. The position may also involve designing and implementing clinical programs, policies, and services using specialized knowledge and skills. Work is generally conducted under limited supervision, but the employee may be responsible for leading daily operations, training, delegating, and reviewing the work of lower-level employees. Problems encountered are typically difficult and non‑routine but not complex.

Qualifications

Education: Clinical education in a Histology Technician School (HT) program accredited by NAACLS or the minimum required for HTL (ASCP).

Experience: 1 year experience in a Histology Laboratory.

Licensure: ASCP or equivalent certification required.

Physical Demands

Job requires sitting or standing for prolonged periods and frequently bending/stooping. Proficient communicative, auditory and visual skills; attention to detail and ability to write legibly; ability to lift, push or pull 50–100 lbs. May be exposed to chemicals, radiation, blood/body fluids and infectious disease.

Pay and Benefits

Pay range for this role is $28.96–$42.82 hourly. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate’s qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
