Job summary

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s in Histology/Medical Tech (or related) and 1 year of clinical lab experience with NY licensure. Evening UR shift, 40 hours weekly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Histology/Medical Technology or related field with relevant coursework.
• Minimum 1 year of clinical laboratory experience required.
• NY licensure as Histotechnologist or Clinical Laboratory Technologist preferred upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Process tissue samples for histological diagnosis under supervision.
• Perform grossing, embedding, microtomy, and staining procedures.
• Maintain equipment, daily quality control, and safety standards.
• Communicate with internal/external clients professionally.
• Report to work at UR Labs location/site.
• Train others and contribute to learning experiences.
• Ensure slides meet laboratory quality standards and troubleshoot issues.
• Perform maintenance on laboratory equipment and updates procedures as needed.
• Assume supervision and competency assessment responsibilities when qualified.
