Job summary

St. David's North Austin Medical Center is seeking a Histotechnologist to prepare specimens for pathologist examination, including processing, embedding, cutting, mounting and staining slides. You will ensure sample quality and contribute to safety and quality control in a fast-paced laboratory.

Responsibilities include assisting with bone marrow and biopsy procedures, maintaining accurate records, and supporting routine lab maintenance and quality checks in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 1 year of previous experience as a Histotechnologist.
• Associate degree in Histology or Applied Science.
• Graduate of an accredited school or program of Histology or Pathology.

Responsibilities

• Accession specimens with proper patient information and log data.
• Process, embed, cut, mount and stain specimens.
• Accurately file slides, cassettes and tissue blocks.
• Prepare, label, and check expiration dates on solutions and reagents.
• Assist with bone marrow, biopsies, and renal biopsy procedures.
• Support lab maintenance, equipment checks and disposal of specimens.
