Job summary

A regional healthcare institution is seeking a Histotechnologist PRN to join its laboratory team in Idaho Falls, Idaho. You will play a vital role in providing quality patient care by performing histology procedures including embedding, cutting, and staining tissues. The ideal candidate will have certifications as a Histotechnician and Histologist and possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Qualifications

  • Certified as a Histotechnician from an accredited school.
  • Histologist Certification from ASCP.
  • 2 years of Histology experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • File, locate, log, retrieve, and deliver pathology specimens/reports.
  • Perform standard histology procedures, including embedding and staining tissue.
  • Provide pathologist with stained slides for diagnosis.
  • Assist in instructing other personnel as assigned.
  • Maintain high quality patient care.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Histologist at our facility you will be an integral part of our Laboratory team. We are a highly functioning team that supports many different departments and has a passion for providing the best patient care through compassionate, professional interactions and reliable testing. In this role:

  • You will file, locate, log, retrieve, and deliver pathology specimens/reports.
  • You will perform standard histology procedures for embedding, cutting, mounting, and staining tissue for analysis.
  • You will provide the pathologist with well stained microscopic slides of surgical sections and perform any necessary procedures for microscopic diagnosis.
  • You will perform specialized testing as assigned.
  • You will assist in instructing other personnel as assigned.
  • You will assure that the highest degree of quality patient care is maintained at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Certified as a Histotechnician from an accredited school.
  • Histologist Certification from ASCP.
  • 2 years of Histology experience preferred.
  • Must have good verbal and written skills and good computer knowledge and keyboarding skills.
