Qualifications

• Requires ASCP Registered preferred or histology program certification; relevant experience may substitute.
• Strong computer skills; proficient with web-based applications and MS Office suite.
• Applicable histology education and licensure preferred per job description.

Responsibilities

• Processes and embeds tissue in paraffin; cuts paraffin blocks with microtomes.
• Prepares stains and solutions; stains tissues and evaluates stained slides.
• Maintains equipment, supply inventories, and a clean work environment.
• Participates in inter-shift coverage for time off, emergencies, and holidays.
• Prepares slides and blocks with patient identification per lab practices.

AS/AS Histology degree or 60-semester-hour chemistry/biology
