Job summary

VillageMD in Connecticut is seeking a Histology Technician to prepare histologic slides from tissue sections for microscopic examination by the Pathologist. The role requires accurate accessioning, labeling, staining, and maintaining clean, organized work areas.

You will operate the microtome, tissue processor, and stainers, keep QA/QC records, and ensure compliance with CLIA/OSHA standards. Travel to various practice locations may be required; ASCP certification preferred.

Qualifications

• ASCP certification or eligibility preferred.
• AS/BS in science from accredited college.
• Ability to read and interpret safety and procedure manuals.

Responsibilities

• Prepares histologic slides and accessioning specimens.
• Operates microtome, tissue processor, and stainers.
• Labels specimens and stains slides.
• Maintains records and QA/QC documentation.
• Complies with CLIA, OSHA, and safety standards.
