Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center is seeking a Histotechnologist for per diem shifts in the Histology department. You will process, embed, section, and stain tissue specimens, ensuring accurate quality control and adherence to lab protocols.

Requirements include an AS degree in histology (NAACLS-accredited) or equivalent with chemistry/biology coursework and relevant experience; ASCP HT certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in histology or equivalent with chemistry/biology coursework.
• One year of histology lab experience or completion of histology program certificate with relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Process and embed tissue in paraffin; cut blocks with microtomes.
• Prepare stains and solutions; stain tissues including frozen slides and cytology preparations.
• Maintain equipment and supplies; ensure clean work environment and quality control.
• Maintain patient identification according to lab practices; participate in inter-shift coverage.
