Job summary

UC Irvine Health is seeking a Histotechnologist to prepare and process tissue specimens for microscopic examination by Pathologist/Researcher. The role includes embedding tissue, cutting FFPE and frozen sections, staining, and slide mounting to support disease diagnosis and research.

The incumbent will maintain laboratory inventory, perform quality control, and contribute across Histology Clinical Laboratory and Experimental Tissue Resource as needed.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the organization.
• A minimum of 1–3 years of experience in the field.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process tissue specimens for microscopic examination.
• Embed tissue, cut FFPE and frozen sections, and mount slides.
• Perform staining and provide quality control; maintain inventory and records.
