The Histotechnologist at University of California, Irvine Health will prepare and process tissue specimens for microscopic examination by the Pathologist or Researcher. The role includes collecting specimens, embedding tissue, and cutting FFPE and frozen sections for staining and mounting to enable disease assessment.

This position requires maintaining lab inventory, recording quality control data, and ensuring accurate workflow across Histology Clinical Laboratory and Experimental Tissue

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication in English
• 1–3 years of HT experience
• 1 year experience with embedding, sectioning FFPE and frozen specimens
• 1 year experience as HT with embedding, sectioning and special stains
• ASCP histotechnician certification preferred

Responsabilités

• Prepare and process tissue specimens for microscopic examination by Pathologist/Researcher
• Collect, accept and recognize specimens arriving in lab
• Embed tissue and cut sections FFPE and frozen
• Stain and mount surgical, neurological, bone marrow, and autopsy tissue sections
• Maintain laboratory inventory and equipment; keep QC records; track work performed
