Job summary

Foundation Medicine in Morrisville, NC is seeking a Histotechnologist II for Tue-Sat, 8:00 am–4:30 pm. You will perform routine testing in a high‑complexity diagnostic lab, prepare slides, stain specimens, and troubleshoot with the Laboratory Operations team to move samples efficiently through the workflow.

The role requires histology experience, ability to work with SOPs, and collaboration with cross‑functional teams. A discretionary annual bonus and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 4 years in histology lab
• Associates degree with 3 years in histology lab
• Bachelor’s degree with 2 years in histology lab
• Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)

Responsibilities

• Answer questions, troubleshoot equipment, and facilitate interdepartmental projects.
• Troubleshoot on-hold cases and collaborate with the lab operations team to move samples through the facility.
• Assist in training new employees for positions.
• Operate a microtome to produce slides from paraffin blocks.
• Perform Automated H&E staining and Manual Kwik-Diff staining.
• Prepare samples for nucleic acid extraction.
• Maintain lab equipment and perform routine maintenance.
• Ensure specimen integrity and quality of the samples.
