Job summary

Orlando Health, Inc. seeks a Histotechnologist II to process surgical, autopsy, and study specimens for pathologic diagnosis.

Responsibilities include fixation, processing, freezing, microtomy, frozen sections, and staining slides for microscopic examination by the Pathologist. Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree (or associate’s with two years histology experience), Florida Clinical Laboratory Technologist license, HT/HTL certification or eligibility, and at least one year of laboratory

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Histotechnology required, or an associate's with 2 years of histology experience as substitution.
• Graduate from an approved school of Histotechnology is required.
• Maintains a current Florida license as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist (Histology Technologist).
• Certified as Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL), or eligible for certification.

Responsibilities

• Process tissue specimens for histology including fixation, processing, embedding, sectioning, and staining for microscopic examination.
• Perform and document quality control and preventive maintenance procedures; troubleshoot instruments and staining processes.
