Job summary

Abbott in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Histotechnologist I to perform histology laboratory procedures used to produce tissue slides and support the duties in a CLIA/CAP-certified lab. The role involves strict adherence to safety and quality controls and learning histology, pathology, and molecular aspects; shift is Wed-Sat 11:00am–9:30pm.

You will collaborate with pathologists and laboratory staff to ensure timely processing of specimens.

Responsibilities

• Label FFPE blocks and slides per SOPs and labeling system.
• Section, fixate, and process H&E stained slides for FF and FFPE samples.
• Prepare and perform DNA/RNA extraction procedures according to SOPs.
• Accession and enter data into LIS and LIS-related systems per SOPs.
• Prepare FF tissue samples and tumor estimates per SOPs.
• Maintain histology equipment and record QA/QC data.
• Collaborate with pathologists and laboratory staff to ensure timely processing of specimens.
