Job summary

Digital Prospectors in New York seeks a Histotechnologist I to support routine and non-routine histology in a high-complexity lab. You will prepare tissue specimens, maintain quality standards, and collaborate with pathology teams to ensure timely processing.

The ideal candidate holds an AA degree with 2–3 years of related experience in histology, including microtomy, H&E staining, and immunohistochemistry, with NY licensure as applicable. Strong teamwork and QA compliance are essential.

Qualifications

• AA degree or equivalent required; BA/BS preferred.
• 2–3 years of related experience in a high-complexity laboratory.
• Experience with tissue processing techniques including microtomy, slide prep, H&E and IHC.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal laboratory regulations.
• Ability to integrate feedback professionally and maintain quality.
• Active NY licensure requirements may apply for HTL/CLT roles.

Responsibilities

• Maintain stringent quality standards and promptly communicate issues affecting test results or safety.
• Perform histology activities including microtomy, H&E staining, and immunohistochemistry.
• Train on workflow queues and support specimen workflow as needed.
• Prepare reagents, solutions, and controls.
• Perform and document equipment maintenance and calibration.
• Interact with Pathologists and cross-functional teams for timely processing.
• Assist with audits and participate in QA/QMS activities.
• Support training of new laboratory personnel.
• Prioritize work and drive quality-focused results.
• Maintain open communication with internal staff, managers, and customers.
