Job summary

Platinum Dermatology Partners is seeking a qualified Histology Technologist for the Glendale, AZ location. The candidate will perform embedding, microtomy, staining, including immunohistochemistry, and will maintain proper filing and documentation in a fast-paced dermatology environment.

Required BS in histotechnology (or related life science) and HTL (ASCP) certification, with a minimum of 3 years in histology; dermatology experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities / Duties / Functions / Tasks

• Must be proficient in the following areas:
  • Embedding
  • Microtomy
  • Routine Staining
  • Special Staining/immunohistochemistry
  • File slides, block and paperwork in alpha-numeric order
  • Equipment quality control
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in histotechnology, biology, chemistry, medical laboratory science, or a related life science field.
• HTL (ASCP) certification is required.

Performance Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in histology preferred. Dermatology experience is a plus.
• Must be proficient in histology

Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.

Physical Requirements: Must possess manual dexterity to operate office machines including computer and calculator; stooping and bending to handle files and supplies; and mobility to complete errands or deliveries. Includes handling of sharps and chemicals.
