Job summary

United Digestive Pathology Services in Alpharetta, GA is seeking an experienced Histology Technician to support tissue processing and staining in a fast-paced lab. Responsibilities include grossing, embedding, sectioning, H&E and IHC staining, and maintaining equipment per SOPs.

Requires ASCP HT/HTL or a science degree with histology experience; 2nd/3rd shift may be required; strong attention to detail and safety.

Qualifications

• Must demonstrate ability to gross, embed, section, and stain routine tissue with acceptable quantity and quality.
• Knowledge of biology, chemistry, histology, immunology, mathematics, and basic computer use.
• Medical background and knowledge of procedure codes, diagnosis codes, and medical records preferred.
• Strong organizational skills for a busy work schedule with many techniques.

Responsibilities

• Maintain diagnostic viability of all specimens and ensure correct labeling.
• Gross, process, embed, and section surgical tissue for microscopic exam.
• Cut and stain sections for rapid diagnosis.
• Prepare tissue fixatives and paraffins; maintain reagents for staining.
