Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, Albany, Georgia, seeks a Histology Technician (HT) to assist in preparing tissue samples for diagnosis. The role includes embedding, cutting, mounting, and staining tissue sections and assisting pathologists with gross descriptions.

The ideal candidate holds a Histotechnology degree and has 1+ year tissue processing experience; associates degree preferred. On-site, full-time role for the first shift with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Vocational/Technical degree in Accredited Histotechnology Program required.
• Associate’s degree in Accredited Histotechnology Program preferred.

Responsabilités

• Embeds, cuts, mounts, and stains tissue sections on slides.
• Embeds tissue in paraffin blocks.
• Cuts a thin section representative of the diseased tissue.
• Maintains identification and documentation of all specimens and slides.
• Operates histology equipment and maintains workspace and inventory.
