Job summary

Personalis, Inc. is seeking a Histotechnician to process FFPE specimens for microscopic evaluation in support of molecular diagnostics.

Onsite schedule is Tuesday-Saturday, 12 pm–8:30 pm. Requirements include an Associate degree in histology and HT/HTL certification (ASCP); 0–3 years in high-volume histology with microtomy, H&E staining, embedding; experience in IHC and digital imaging is a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in histology or related science required.
• 0–3 years experience in high-volume histology lab with microtomy, H&E staining, embedding.
• HT or HTL certification from ASCP required.
• Experience in IHC and digital imaging, tissue/tumor identification, reading pathology reports is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management; good communication.
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Section tissue with microtome and mount on glass slides.
• Stain tissue sections using automated or manual methods.
• Cover slides manually or automatically.
• Generate digital slide images for pathologist review.
• Perform macrodissection and instrument maintenance.
• Follow lab safety and quality policies and document data.
• Help meet TAT goals while maintaining productivity.
• Report issues to supervisor for timely resolution.
