Job summary

Personalis, based in Fremont, California, is seeking a Histotechnician to support our molecular diagnostics offerings by processing FFPE specimens for microscopic evaluation and meeting TAT goals with high-quality productivity.

Requires 3+ years in a high-volume histology lab, HT/HTL ASCP preferred, and experience in IHC and digital imaging with strong documentation practices. NAACLS-accredited histotechnology program or related degree required.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in chemical/physical/biological science or NAACLS Histotechnology program completed.
• 3+ years in a high-volume histology lab performing microtomy, H&E staining, and embedding.
• Experience in IHC and digital imaging; reading pathology reports a plus.
• Excellent attention to detail, organization, and time management; strong communication.
• Physical ability to lift up to 25 lbs and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Perform sectioning of tissue with a microtome and mount on glass slides.
• Stain tissue sections using automated or manual methods; ensure quality.
• Cover slips on slides, generate digital slide images for review.
• Conduct macrodissection; operate and maintain instruments.
• Follow safety and quality policies; document data in LIMS accurately.
• Meet turnaround time (TAT) goals while maintaining productivity.
• Keep work areas clean and organized; report issues to supervisor.
• Record specimen data and ensure traceability in systems.
