Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle is seeking a Clinical Histotechnician I - Certified (Per Diem) to produce high-quality histology work and collaborate with Pathology leadership. The role involves close interaction with Pathology Manager and pathologists, with a lab schedule that runs Monday through Saturday, 4am–11pm.

The position is per diem with no pre-set hours but may be called during lab operational times; requires HT (ASCP) certification and an Associate degree.

Qualifikationen

• Associate degree in a laboratory science or medical laboratory technology.
• HT (ASCP) certification required.
• Strong attention to detail and judgment.
• Able to work under supervision and communicate effectively.
• Color vision ability to pass a color vision screen.

Aufgaben

• Receive, accession, and process specimens per protocol.
• Prepare specimens using paraffin, frozen sections, cytocentrifugation; microtome sectioning.
• Perform routine and special histochemical stains.
• Perform Immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization.
• Maintain reagents, equipment, data records, and organize tissue blocks/slides.
• Manage reagent and supply inventories; order supplies timely.
• Complete maintenance duties in the IHC area and with equipment.
• Perform all on-call duties as required.
