Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center in Seattle is seeking a Clinical Histotechnician I - Certified to perform high-quality histology work and support pathology services.

You will prepare specimens, perform immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization, manage reagents and equipment, and participate in on-call duties. The role requires HT (ASCP) certification and an associate degree, with a per diem schedule.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a laboratory science or equivalent education; CLIA high complexity testing requirements.
• HT (ASCP) certification
• Sound judgment and ability to work under supervision
• Attention to detail and basic computer skills
• Strong verbal and written communication
• Ability to troubleshoot and pass color vision screen

Responsibilities

• Receive and process specimens according to protocol in a timely manner.
• Prepare specimens using paraffin or frozen sections and microtomy.
• Perform routine and special histochemical stains.
• Conduct Immunohistochemistry and in situ hybridization.
• Prepare reagents, maintain equipment, and record data.
• Manage inventories and order supplies timely.
• Complete maintenance tasks in the IHC area and on-call duties.
