Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• One year of progressively responsible, related work experience.
• HTL‑ASCP Histotechnologist certification within 1½ years.
• HTN‑ASCP Histotechnician certification within 1½ years.
• Ability to operate and maintain medical laboratory equipment.

Responsibilities

• Cut high quality 1–4 micron sections of challenging biopsy specimens.
• Process 50–75 blocks per day while maintaining high quality.
• Perform routine H&E stains and routine special stains.
• Organize and prioritize specimens to ensure timely, accurate results.
• Perform quality control on sections and staining procedures.
• Work overtime and cover shifts as needed.
• Contribute to a fast-paced, high-volume laboratory environment.
• Follow health and safety policies.
