Job summary

Labcorp in Monrovia, CA is seeking a Histotechnician to prepare tissue specimens for microscopic examination and produce high-quality histology slides. The role requires sectioning tissue with a microtome, performing immunohistochemistry tests, and ensuring timely reporting of results to support patient care.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Histology or HS diploma with 5+ years histology experience.
• 1 year or more experience as a histotechnician.
• Familiarity with routine histology procedures and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Process human tissue and body fluid specimens for microscopic exam.
• Section embedded tissue using a microtome and mount sections properly on slides.
• Perform immunohistochemical tests on formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue sections.
• Operate and maintain manual and automated instruments.
• Record equipment logs and perform preventive maintenance.
