Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Histotechnician to join our team in Monrovia, CA for a 2nd shift casual/per diem position with hours that may vary. The role involves processing tissue samples, preparing slides, and performing immunohistochemical tests to support accurate patient results.

The candidate should have an associate degree in Histology or a high school diploma with histology experience, and ASCP certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Histology or high school diploma with 1+ year histology experience.
• ASCP certification preferred (Labcorp experience preferred).
• Familiarity with routine histology procedures and equipment.

Responsibilities

• Process human tissue and body fluid specimens for microscopic exam.
• Prepare formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded tissue sections for staining.
• Section tissue with a microtome and mount on slides.
• Perform immunohistochemical tests on tissue sections.
• Run routine and special staining procedures and maintain quality control.
• Maintain accurate equipment logs and perform preventive maintenance.
• Follow SOPs and safety protocols in all tasks.
