Job summary

Labcorp is seeking a Histotechnician for our San Diego, CA location. This second shift (afternoon), casual/per diem role has hours that vary and is on-site.

You will process tissue and body fluids, cut sections with a microtome, and prepare slides for microscopic examination. The position requires an associate degree in Histology or a high school diploma with 1+ year histology experience; a histotechnician background and immunohistochemistry experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in Histology or high school with 1+ year histology experience.
• 1 year of experience as a histotechnician.
• ASCP certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process human tissue and body fluid specimens for microscopic exam.
• Prepare histology slides from surgical specimens.
• Section tissue with a microtome and mount on slides.
• Perform immunohistochemical tests on tissue sections.
• Report accurate and timely test results to support patient care.
