Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Histology Technician to collect and prepare specimens for testing, and to assist pathologists in processing surgical and autopsy materials.

Responsibilities include embedding, cutting, staining, QA activities, record-keeping, and maintaining equipment and slides; the position is full-time, 3 AM - 11 AM, Monday–Friday with rotating holidays and a sign-on bonus eligible based on eligibility.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• ASCP Histologic Technician certification or eligible.

Responsibilities

• Collects and prepares specimens for testing procedures.
• Prepares, embeds, cuts and stains microscopic slides under supervision.
