Job summary

Quest Diagnostics Incorporated in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Lab Assistant I - Histology to support early-morning preparation of histopathology samples. The shift runs Monday through Friday from 3:00 AM to 11:30 AM, with duties spanning tissue preparation, labeling, and routine lab tasks.

The role requires a high school diploma, some college science coursework, and strong attention to detail; data entry and equipment maintenance are involved.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent (Required).
• Some college science courses preferred.
• Experience in histopathology or laboratory settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preparation of histopathology slides under supervision.
• Receive, label, and prepare tissue specimens for dissection.
• Process paperwork for accessioning and reporting.
• Monitor inventory and requisition supplies before depletion.
• Clean, sterilize and maintain work area and equipment.
• Perform coverslipping of stained slides manually and automatically.
• Handle assigned clerical duties.
• Comply with health, quality and safety policies and PPE.
• Other duties as assigned.
