Department: Histopathology
Shift: Day, Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm, rotating every 5th Saturday. Day off during the week when scheduled to work Saturday.
Preferred Experience: Must have at least 3 years of experience working in a Surgical Pathology Gross Room, accessioning into Beaker LIS, assisting residents and PAs during gross dissection, preparing Frozen Sections for Pathologist review, performing daily quality control of tissue processors, and grossing biopsy samples.

Job Summary: The Histotechnician 2 prepares specimens for microscopic evaluation, performs technical procedures, and maintains laboratory instruments with minimal supervision.
Essential Functions: Creating microscopic slides, following quality and safety protocols, maintaining equipment and supplies, communicating effectively, participating in projects, and educating others.
Key Success Factors: Critical thinking, communication skills, laboratory protocol knowledge, computer skills, safety awareness, and teamwork.
Qualifications: H.S. Diploma/GED, at least 3 years of experience in a similar role, and certification as an ASCP-Histotechnician (ASCP-HT).
