Job summary

Medlinkhealth Anesthesia Associates is seeking a Histotechnician (Histotech) to prepare tissue sections for microscopic examination, fix and process samples, embed in paraffin, and cut sections with a microtome or cryostat. You will mount, stain, and assess slides to support accurate diagnoses.

Responsibilities include maintaining quality-control procedures, performing routine maintenance on equipment, and managing laboratory supplies to ensure smooth workflows.

Qualifications

• 2 years of Histotech experience required.
• HT or HTL certification through ASCP required.
• ASCP certification documentation must be provided at submission.

Responsibilities

• Prepare thin tissue sections for microscopic examination and analysis.
• Examine, fix, and process tissue samples to preserve them for testing.
• Embed tissue samples in paraffin wax and cut sections using a microtome or cryostat.
• Mount tissue sections on slides and stain samples to highlight abnormalities.
• Identify factors affecting procedures and test quality, taking corrective action when necessary.
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of laboratory equipment and instruments.
• Manage laboratory supplies and maintain quality-control procedures.
