Qualifications

• Minimum one year of work experience in a medical office.
• Thorough knowledge of medical terminology.
• Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding.
• Detail oriented and professional attitude.
• Strong management and organizational skills.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions with accuracy.
• Interpersonal skills to support customer service and teamwork.
• Excellent English communications skills, both written and spoken.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and compliant practices.

Responsibilities

• Performs various histopathological procedures with accuracy and compliance.
• Receive and map specimens, verify orientation and labeling for margins.
• Embed, cryotomy, stain and cover slip tissue as required by protocols.
• Conduct immunohistochemistry staining where applicable and maintain quality control.
• Maintain safety, logbooks and instrument performance per OSHA standards.
• Assist in Mohs laboratory duties and routine laboratory tasks as directed.
• Document reagent usage, prepare slides, and ensure proper specimen tracking.
• Support general housekeeping and participate in QA activities.
