Job summary

Virtua Health in Voorhees, NJ is seeking a Histotechnician or Histotechnologist Per Diem to embed, cut, stain and prepare tissue samples in a fast-paced, accredited lab. The role requires 1 year of full-time histology experience and HT (ASCP) certification or registry eligibility.

This Per Diem, part-time shift offers 5:30am-8:00am starts, hourly rate of $40.25, and comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, 403(b)/401(k), paid time off, tuition assistance, and EAP.

Qualifications

• 1 year of full-time histology experience within the last 5 years.
• Graduation from an approved histology program or HT (ASCP) certification.
• Registry eligibility or certification required or pending eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Embeds tissue samples in paraffin correctly identifying tissue type and components.
• Cuts tissue in ultra-thin sections adapting technique to tissue type.
• Performs routine, special and Immunohistochemical staining procedures.
• Understands basic immunology as it relates to test results.
• Prepares tissue specimens for processing per physician orders.
• Correlates lab tests to disease processes and understands test selection.
• Performs, reviews, and documents quality control per policy.
• Evaluates data and investigates problems.
