Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a Lab Prep Assistant Per Diem in Histology for our Voorhees location. The role requires weekday day shifts (8:00am–4:30pm) with the ability to cover full shifts at alternative hospital sites, including Our Lady of Lourdes, Camden.

This position supports clerical and preparatory work in Histology/Cytology and involves specimen handling and data entry. Responsibilities include matching specimens to requisitions, registration and accessioning, staining where applicable, and

Qualifications

• Clerical and preparatory support experience in histology/cytology is a plus.
• Must have basic computer literacy and data entry skills.

Responsibilities

• Receive and match specimens with requisitions from multiple locations.
• Register and accession specimens while protecting patient confidentiality.
• Handle specimens: numbering, slides, cassettes, and order recognition.
• Process cytology specimens, including staining when applicable.
• Maintain departmental logs and statistics.
• Assist with frozen sections and bone marrow staining.
• Process send-out specimens and other duties as assigned.
