Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a Lab Prep Assistant Per Diem in Histology for Mount Holly and Voorhees locations. This on-site, part-time role supports clerical and preparatory duties in the Histology department, primarily Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:30pm, as needed.

You will match specimens to requisitions, perform registrations, and assist with staining and cytology tasks while maintaining patient confidentiality and departmental logs. Training provided as required.

Qualifications

• Must have computer skills.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Receive and match specimens with requisitions from multiple locations.
• Register and accession specimens accurately while protecting patient confidentiality.
• Handle specimens: numbering, cassettes, and order recognition.
• Process cytology specimens when required, including staining.
• Maintain logs and statistics for the department.
• Assist with frozen sections and bone marrow specimens, including staining.
• Handle send-out specimens and other duties as assigned.
