St. Luke's Health System has an exciting opportunity for a Histotech to join our Denver Way Histology Department in a full-time position. The Histologic Technologist independently prepares tissue specimens for diagnostic analysis, including performing special staining procedures.

This mid-level role requires greater autonomy and can handle complex tasks with minimal supervision while mentoring newer staff. The department emphasizes quality, safety, and regulatory compliance, supporting

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's of Science degree.
  • Experience: 0 years experience.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Histotechnologist, (ASCP_HTL).

Responsibilities

  • Process tissue specimens for microscopic examination.
  • Perform technical duties related to production of histopathological slides.
  • Conduct routine staining procedures, including special stains; operate and maintain laboratory equipment according to procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with department policies, safety, regulatory standards.
  • Accurately maintain patient identification throughout the preparation process.
  • Ensure specimens are properly identified, collected, labeled, and stored.
  • Follow laboratory policies and procedures in accordance with all regulatory agency requirements.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  • May mentor and train lower-level team members as needed.
  • Provide training and support for new personnel; assist with quality improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in inventory management.
  • Perform other assigned duties.

The Histologic Technician applies scientific principles to ensure high-quality specimen preparation, contributing to accurate patient diagnoses while maintaining compliance with laboratory standards and regulatory requirements. Additionally, this role may provide guidance and training to lower-level team members.

What You Can Expect:
  • Responsible for routine processing of human tissue and body fluid specimens for microscopic examination.
