Job summary

Chicago Public Schools seeks a dedicated Teacher for the Hyde Park Career Academy area. The role reports to the principal and is responsible for the instruction, progress, and discipline of all pupils in assigned classes.

Responsibilities include creating lesson plans, applying up-to-date teaching methods, maintaining pupil records, and communicating with parents. Collaboration and ongoing professional development are expected as part of the role.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of student teaching and Illinois teaching certificate requirements.
• Knowledge of state curriculum and classroom management.
• Ability to adapt instruction to diverse learners.

Responsibilities

• Create written lesson plans and prepare accordingly to instructional objectives.
• Apply contemporary teaching methods and utilize available instructional materials.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and pupil progress, and communicate with parents/guardians.
• Participate in in-service meetings and professional staff meetings; may coordinate field trips and after-school activities.
