Chicago Public Schools is seeking a licensed Teacher to provide instruction, monitor student progress, and maintain classroom discipline in accordance with CPS policies. The teacher will plan lessons, communicate with families, and participate in professional development and school activities.

The position is union-based and located in Illinois. Responsibilities include instructional planning, maintaining records, and supporting student attendance initiatives, with opportunities for involvement

Qualifications

• Must have completed student teaching and coursework to obtain Illinois teaching certificate(s).
• Valid Illinois teaching license: PEL or ELS, properly endorsed for this position.
• Knowledge of state certification requirements and current teaching practices.

Responsabilités

• Plan instructional activities and create written lesson plans aligned with instructional objectives.
• Instruct and monitor progress of all pupils; maintain accurate attendance and records.
• Communicate with parents/guardians about pupil progress, attendance, and conduct; conduct conferences as needed.
• Participate in in-service and professional staff meetings; implement new teaching techniques.
• Coordinate field trips and supervise after-school activities as needed.
• Promote positive classroom management and anti-vandalism policies per CPS code.

Formation

Teaching certificate requirements (ISBE) – completion of student teaching and required coursework

Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) or Educator License with Stipulations (ELS)
