Job summary

Jackson State Community College seeks an adjunct History instructor to deliver quality instruction using integrative technologies. The role includes teaching on ground, evenings, off-campus, and distance-based courses as required.

The position requires posting and submitting grades, updating syllabi, completing required trainings and reports, and maintaining timely communication with the chair and dean. A Master's in History and prior college teaching is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in History or a related field with at least eighteen (18) credit hours in graduate level History from an accredited institution.
• Collegiate level teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses on ground as assigned; evening, off-campus, and distance-based courses may be required.
• Post grades during the term for student feedback and submit final grades by registrar deadlines.
• Complete required college trainings and reports (attendance, progress, surveys, etc.) and alert chair or dean if unable to teach.
• Check JSCC email and departmental mailbox; respond within 48 hours (except weekends).
• Submit or update class syllabi at least 2 weeks before first day of class or within 7 days of contract execution.
