Jackson State Community College invites applications for an Adjunct Instructor - Geography (Pool) to deliver quality instruction using integrative technologies. The role requires teaching on-ground as well as evening, off-campus, and distance-based courses, with deadlines for grade submissions and ongoing compliance with college policies.

Minimum qualifications include a Master’s in Geography and 18 graduate credit hours in geography; collegial teaching experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Geography or related field with at least eighteen (18) credit hours in graduate level Geography from an accredited institution.
  • Collegiate level teaching experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population; proficient in Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Teach courses on-ground and as assigned; evenings, off-campus, and distance-based courses as required.
  • Post grades during the term for student feedback and submit final grades by deadlines.
  • Complete required trainings and reports; advise the Program Chair or Dean; attend meetings as requested; comply with policies and guidelines.
  • Check JSCC email and department mailbox; respond within 48 hours, weekends excepted.
  • Submit class syllabus or update department syllabus at least 2 weeks before first day of class or within seven days of contract execution.
