Job summary

The Technical College of the Lowcountry is seeking an instructor to teach American Government across programs. You will deliver hands-on and theoretical instruction, manage the classroom, and develop syllabi and lesson plans.

You will assess student progress, maintain attendance and grade records, and collaborate with Tutoring, Retention, and other college areas to support student success. A Master’s degree and 18 graduate hours in political science are required.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field is required.
• Unofficial transcripts requested; official transcripts preferred.

Job Purpose:

Teach American Government courses to students in all academic programs at the Technical College of the Lowcountry.

Job Duties:

Instructional Development

• Recommend for approval adequate instructional materials for course.
• Work with other areas of the college such as Tutoring, Retention, etc. to help ensure student success.
• Prepare reports in cooperation with the Division Dean for input in planning/reporting system and/or for submission to the accrediting body of the college or programs.

Professional Development

• Attend relevant professional meetings.
• Represent the college positively in interactions with the community and with professional and academic groups at local, state, and national levels.
