The North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources (DNCR) seeks a Historic Site Manager I to oversee Bentonville Battlefield's visitor center as Assistant Site Manager and interpretive supervisor. You will manage staff, develop educational programs, and coordinate artifact care and visitor engagement at a National Historic Landmark site in Four Oaks, NC.

The role requires a history background, experience in programming, supervision, and documentation.

Competenze

Demonstrated knowledge of state or national antebellum and Civil War history.
Experience in developing and implementing special events and educational programming.
Experience in planning, supervising and/or directing the work of subordinate employees or volunteers.
Experience in maintaining records and preparing routine reports.
Knowledge of archival practices and be able to write cohesive material based on research.

Mansioni

Recruiting and managing one to two full‑time staff, temporary employees, interns, and volunteers.
Developing interpretive programs, researching and writing exhibits and articles, and ensuring proper artifact care.
Greeting visitors, leading tours, providing living history demonstrations, and delivering presentations.
Assisting with daily clerical and financial tasks, including e‑procurement.
Operating the sales desk and assisting with site maintenance.
