Job summary

State of Missouri is seeking a site administrator for Deutschheim State Historic Site in Hermann, MO. The role oversees daily operations, budgeting, and interpretation programs, while leading a team of staff and volunteers.

Qualifications include a 4-year degree in a relevant field and multiple years of management experience in parks or historic sites. The ideal candidate will coordinate events, engage with the media and local partners, and manage reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Park Management, History, Museum Studies, Education, Public Administration or related field.
• Four+ years of management and supervision experience in state parks or historic sites.
• Experience in interpretation, preservation and curation of historic properties and collections.
• Strong leadership, initiative, and ability to work with diverse stakeholders.
• Proficiency with computer programs to manage and present reports and proposals.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations, budgeting, maintenance priorities, staff schedules and supervision.
• Develop historic interpretation, preservation, and curation; create exhibits and present information to professionals and the public.
• Exercise initiative and independent judgement in planning and implementing work.
• Supervise maintenance staff and volunteers; train in safety and operations.
